Positive Futures: Transforming the lives of children and families through research will explore a range of approaches to research and evidence-informed practice to improve outcomes for children and families.
We will examine the meaning behind commonly used terminology such as ‘outcomes’, ‘evidence-based’, ‘innovation’, ‘collaboration’ and ‘co-design’. What do these approaches mean for families who use our services and do they really have an impact?
This will be the Centre for Excellence’s 6th Annual Sector Research Symposium, presented in collaboration with the Department of Social Work at the University of Melbourne.
The event is sponsored by the Sector Research Partnership* – a community of practice made of academics and sector practitioners that aims to foster collaborative relationships, develop and promote research and assist in converting theory into practice for the benefit of children, families and the organisations that support them.
The Symposium is aimed at practitioners, academics, professionals and policy-makers in the child and family services sector.
The four conference themes are:
- Evidence-informed practice
- Knowledge building: Aboriginal perspectives
- Innovation: Big and small
- Research-led collaboration and co-design
