Building connections and uniting advocates

At the Centre, we take immense pride in our annual events, which serve as vital platforms for collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Our events bring together professionals, advocates, and community members dedicated to improving the lives of children and families across Victoria and Tasmania.

By creating a space for discussions on pressing issues and celebrating achievements within the sector, we inspire positive change and strengthen the community’s collective efforts in creating safer, more supportive environments for all children and their families.

ResiROCKS

ResiROCKS, hosted by the Centre and RCLDS, honours the commitment of residential care workers throughout Victoria who tirelessly support our most vulnerable children and young people.

ResiROCKS provides a collaborative environment for these professionals, encouraging a culture of learning, innovation, and excellence in practice; it is a celebration of outstanding work, creativity, and the essential contributions of those in the residential care sector.

The OPEN Symposium

Victoria’s child and family sector continues to innovate and inspire, dedicating itself to supporting our most vulnerable community members.

Our OPEN Symposium unites top experts, practitioners, and innovators from across the field. This multi-day online event serves as a platform for growth, collaboration, and inspiration. Each year we deepen our knowledge, broaden our network, and establish the standard for innovation within the sector.

Early Years Forums

The Early Years Forums bring together diverse voices with a wealth of experience, to explore the link between family violence and early childhood development.

The Forums create a space for in-depth discussions on children’s rights, trauma, empowerment, and the value of collaboration, to enhance understanding and refine practices supporting young children affected by family violence.

Media Awards

Our Media Awards have recognise journalists who amplify the voices of children and families with respect and intention, celebrating reporting that authentically represents the perspectives of Victoria’s children, young people, and families.

Anti-Poverty Week

During Anti-Poverty Week each year, we reaffirm our commitment to tackling poverty directly by raising awareness, advocating for systemic change, and promoting strategies that address its root causes. Our annual event gathers a diverse group of stakeholders, including policymakers, community leaders, and those affected by poverty, to build meaningful discussions and collaborative efforts. In coming together, we underscore the urgent need for comprehensive solutions and equitable policies that can truly make a difference.

The Family Services Symposium

Each year, our Family Services Symposium unites practitioners, leaders, and partners in the family services sector for a day dedicated to networking and knowledge sharing. With keynote speeches from esteemed experts, engaging presentations, and interactive panel discussions, The Family Services Symposium spotlights the crucial role of family services in enhancing the wellbeing of children and families across Victoria and Tasmania.

Victorian Protecting Children Awards

The annual Victorian Protecting Children Awards recognise and celebrate individuals, teams and groups who demonstrate excellence in working with children, young people and families.
