We’re excited to announce the launch of Uplift, a new pilot program designed to support residential care organisations in shaping a skilled, passionate, and well-equipped workforce. Developed with the needs of both employers and newly qualified practitioners in mind, Uplift offers a unique opportunity to build a strong foundation for a rewarding career in residential care.

What is the Uplift Program?

Supported by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH), Uplift connects residential care organisations with new graduates who are eager to begin their careers in the sector. The program is available to individuals who are either part of the Community and Social Service Graduate Program (CASS-GP), the Jobs Guarantee Program, or those who have recently been employed in the field.

Participants of Uplift are given the tools and support they need to thrive in their first 12 months of employment. With access to a structured learning program and up to six months of personalised coaching, graduates will develop the practical skills, confidence, and capabilities essential to excel in residential care.

Benefits for Residential Care Organisations

For residential care organisations, Uplift presents a unique opportunity to build a skilled workforce with reduced recruitment costs and time.

Just a few key benefits:

  • Streamlined recruitment: By participating in Uplift, organisations can take advantage of a centralised recruitment process, significantly reducing the time and resources spent on finding qualified candidates.
  • Government support: The program includes government investment aimed at improving participant retention. This means organisations not only gain access to talented new graduates but also receive support to ensure they stay engaged and committed to their roles.
  • Building a Supported Workforce: By partnering with Uplift, organisations help shape the future of residential care by developing a workforce that is not only qualified but supported every step of the way.
