Supporting children and young people to thrive in education

We are committed to strengthening educational outcomes for children and young people experiencing disadvantage, ensuring they can access and thrive in high-quality education from early childhood through to post-secondary education. We support education providers, carers, and at-risk young people to ensure the best possible learning experiences.

Creating educational pathways

Young people in care, or those with care experiences, often face significant hurdles throughout their education journey. Trauma can lead to disengagement, lower attendance rates and academic performance, and for many, education takes a backseat amidst upheaval and disruption at home.

However, the school environment remains a space of stability for many vulnerable young people. Education settings play a crucial role in maintaining engagement, bolstering confidence and building meaningful relationships.

By working in partnership with government, child and family services, education providers, community services, carers, and lived experience advocates, we create clear pathways to further education and promote an understanding among schools and universities about the unique challenges faced by young people with care experiences.

Our goal is to ensure children and young people have access to the best possible learning experiences and are supported to hold high aspirations for their future.
