Course Overview 

This interactive and engaging 3 hour online training is designed for residential carers to assist them in their working knowledge and confidence caring for young people with ADHD.

The workshop will include:

Understanding ADHD:

  • common challenges and behaviours associated,
  • differentiating ADHD from other challenges

Managing Difficult Behaviours:

  • Understanding triggers
  • De-escalation techniques for managing difficult behaviours
  • Positive Behaviour Support strategies

The focus will be on providing practical, trauma informed strategies that can be applied in the workplace to improve outcomes for both carers and the young people in their care.

Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage with the material in a supportive environment.
