Course outline
New resources and training are available to help schools and early childhood services with the work they do to keep children and young people safe. The Information sharing schemes and the MARAM framework enable schools and services to share information to promote the wellbeing and safety of children and identify and respond to family violence.
The three interrelated reforms were established in April 2021. They are the Child Information Sharing Scheme (CISS), the Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme (FVISS) and the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM). Schools and services must respond to information sharing requests and use MARAM tools and processes to identify and respond to family violence.
This training is for MARAM nominated staff. MARAM nominated staff are identified by school and service leaders and should have qualifications, training, experience, or a role aligned with wellbeing, such as wellbeing coordinators or leadership staff. Training will support MARAM nominated staff to understand and action their school or service’s MARAM responsibilities for screening, safety planning, and making referrals and reports.
The training is based on the Department of Education’s Information Sharing and Family Violence Reforms: Guidance and Tools.
