The Framework to reduce criminalisation of young people in care is an eLearn designed to support residential care staff to understand their roles and responsibilities in reducing the criminalisation of young people in residential care, including guidance on responding to behaviours of young people in residential care.

Those undertaking this course should walk away feeling confident in the objectives of the framework and how this applies in their day to day care of young people in residential care.

  • Support a more consistent approach to practice in responding to behaviours of concern within the residential care home without the need for police intervention
  • Understand the framework’s guiding principles and residential care workers roles and responsibilities in reducing the criminalisation of young people in residential care.
