You’re Invited to Join Us on Our First-Ever Tas Pride Parade

We’re thrilled to announce our participation in our first-ever TAS Pride Parade! This exciting event, part of the broader TasPride Festival, will be a significant milestone for our community, and we’re inviting you to join us!

On Saturday, February 1, we will come together with LGBTQIA+ individuals, families, and allies to celebrate diversity, inclusion, and the strength of our community. For us at The Centre, this is an important opportunity to show our commitment to supporting diverse families and to champion the rights and wellbeing of young people within the LGBTQIA+ community.

A message of solidarity

The TAS Pride Parade will be our first ever in Tasmania, and we couldn’t be more excited. By participating, we send a message of acceptance and solidarity, affirming the importance of creating safe, inclusive spaces for everyone.

For many young people, seeing their identities and families represented in public events like the Pride Parade can be a powerful and affirming experience, reminding them they are not alone, their identities are valid, and they are part of a larger, loving, and supportive community.

The Parade also provides an opportunity to highlight the ongoing work needed to ensure all people, regardless of their gender or sexual orientation, have access to the support they need to thrive.
