Applying the Best Interests Case Practice Model for effective outcomes
Designed to inform and support professional practice in family services, child protection and placement and support services, the Best Interests Case Practice Model (BICPM) aims to achieve successful outcomes for children and their families.
This highly interactive six-hour Best Interest Case Practice Model Foundation Training Workshop will help practitioners understand:
- The purpose of the Best Interest Case Practice Manual (BICPM), and the benefits of applying the principles for both practitioners, and their clients/service users.
- How to apply the principles of BICPM in practice with children, young people, and their families;
- The cyclical nature of the application of the BICPM framework and principles; and
- Increase their skill set to be able to apply this in practice with clients/ service users.
Learning outcomes
- Build relationships with clients and stakeholders to support the best outcomes for children, young people, and their families, in accordance with BICPM’s ‘Relationship Based’ principles;
- ‘Information Gathering’ in line with BICPM’s principles and tools;
- How to effectively case plan and perform risk assessments in line with BICPM’s ‘Analysis and Planning’ principles and tools;
- Support clients/services users in line with BICPM’s ‘Action’ principles; and
- Reflect on practice and service delivery in line with BICPM’s ‘Reviewing Outcomes’ principles.
Intended audience
Practitioners in the family services sector, including Case Managers, Team Leaders, and Social Workers.
BICPM interactive training
This is an interactive 6-hour session that can be delivered either online or in person.
If delivered online, the learning program should be split into two three-hour sessions.
