Each year, from 25 November to 10 December, the Centre supports the 16 days of activism campaign, which calls for action against one of the world’s most persistent violations of human rights – violence against women.
Violence against women continues to occur at an alarming scale in every country in the world. Too often it is accepted as normal behaviour and the global culture of discrimination against women allows violence to occur with impunity. Recent movements such as #MeToo and #TimesUp have propelled this issue onto the global stage.
The International Women’s Development Agency (IWDA) has compiled key information in user-friendly digital factsheets, social media graphics and printable posters to support individuals and organisations to join the campaign here.

Our Watch - It starts with men. It starts with you.
Men have a vital role in preventing violence against women. Breaking cycles of violence and transforming gender norms is a role that everyone, especially men, can take part in. This is key to building a culture of respect and equality across society.
