The Together with Families, Family Services Symposium 2024 was a vibrant gathering of over 300 practitioners, leaders, and partners, celebrating the transformative work of the family services sector.

Held on November 15, 2024, at Rydges Melbourne, this second annual event was packed with dynamic presentations, interactive workshops, and inspiring keynotes.

Across the day, the agenda was full of insightful keynote speakers, dynamic presentations, interactive workshops, and thought-provoking panel discussions. These sessions delved into effective practices and highlighted the family services sector’s profound impact and extensive reach.

Highlights of the day

Attendees enjoyed insightful sessions addressing the challenges and innovations shaping family services in Victoria. Keynote speakers included:

Dr. Justin Coulson, exploring modern family challenges in Australia and globally.
Mary Roberts, emphasising evidence-based reform in family services; view her slides.
Prof. Daryl Higgins, sharing lessons from the Australian Child Maltreatment Study.

Family Services help keep families connected to their communities and each other

Every year in Victoria our family services support around 50,000 families and many many thousands of children. If we had more resources we'd be able to support more families here in Victoria.

Each year, the Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare brings family services practitioners from across Victoria together for the Together With Families Family Services Symposium.
